Financial Team
  Our accounting department is divided into three teams assigned to individual nonprofits. This strategy allows us to provide direct, personal support by staff familiar with our clients’ specific needs and history.
       
     

Bill Skowera is our Operations Manager. He earned his BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois in 1978. His professional background includes over twenty years in the computer industry in programming, product development, marketing and accounting. In 1987, Bill and four others founded their own company, Silvon Software, where he worked until coming to Cedarstone in 2001.

 

Bill balances his time at Cedarstone with his involvement at Glen Ellyn Evangelical Covenant Church and international travel. He and his wife, Sandy , have three children, Jon, Chris and Jill. In his free time, Bill enjoys biking and reading.

Tina Williams is our Co-Manager for Team 1. She is a Certified Public Accountant with a BA from Judson University in Accounting and Business Management. She brings valuable experience in non-profit accounting to Cedarstone from her time at Capin Crouse, a national nonprofit auditing firm, and Moody Church in Chicago .

 

Tina balances her time at Cedarstone with being the wife of Tim Williams and mother of Josh, age three. Their lives revolve around hockey, following the Chicago Blackhawks professionally and the US Hockey League (USHL) Chicago Steel. Each year they provide a home for a Steel player for eight to nine months, as the league is comprised of unpaid 16-19 year olds playing for college scholarships. These “big brothers” inspired Josh to take up skating at age two and a half. Tina also enjoys scrapbooking.

 

       
  Caryn  

Caryn Thornton is our second Co-Manager for Team 1. Currently, her primary roles revolve around donor support and payroll. With a BA in Business and Economics from Wheaton College , Caryn adds to our financial team a great variety of experience in both for profit and non-profit fields. She has experience in the investment world from working as a sales assistant for Griffin , Kubik, Stephens, and Thompson, as well as fifteen years experience in ministry as a coordinator for youth ministry at First Baptist Church in Wheaton . She has also worked in administration for the HoneyRock office at Wheaton College .

 

She and her husband, Tom, have three daughters, Megan, Katelyn, and Kelly. They spend much of their time involved in their daughters’ high school and middle school athletics—attending volleyball, basketball and softball games throughout the year. Caryn enjoys reading and participating in a women’s Bible study.

Pam Sheldon is the Team Manager for Team 2. She graduated from Northwestern College in Minnesota with a BS in Accounting. Pam began her professional accounting career at Moody Bible Institute. She then added additional experience working at a national accounting firm for several years then becoming the controller for North American Baptist Conference. Pam came to Cedarstone in 2005. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has over 20 years of nonprofit accounting and consulting experienceAs the leader of Team 2, she oversees accounting as well as launching new financial processing teams and integrating new clients into the Cedarstone process flow.

 

Pam devotes her spare time to exercise and singing with the Choral-Aires Chorus – one of the top ten Sweet Adelines’ barbershop choruses in the world.

     Molly Carstenbrock is the Team Manager for Team 3. She graduated from Drake University with a BA in Accounting and Management in 2006 and has been a part of the Cedarstone financial team for two years. Molly is a member of the professional fraternity ΔΣΠ (Delta Sigma Pi) for which she served as Head of Chapter Improvements and Vice President of Scholarships and Awards during her time at Drake.

    

     Outside of Cedarstone, Molly spends her time reading, writing, attending concerts and spending time with her family watching their favorite TV shows. She has her hands full with Rory, her very energetic Scottish terrier. Molly brings to Cedarstone a unique perspective and diverse life experience, having lived in Cleveland , Ohio ; Charlotte , North Carolina ; London , England ; and Chicago , Illinois during her growing up years.

Pavel Bulgin manages our Client Support Team and oversees donation processing, data management and information delivery. He earned his BA in Business and Economics from Russian-American Christian University in Moscow . His professional experience includes developing a Christian bookstore network in Russia , acting as Executive Director for the micro-enterprise development agency Integra, and consulting for one of Russia 's leading publishing houses. His multi-cultural background and time in for-profit and non-profit management bring an important perspective to Cedarstone.

 

Pavel and his wife, Maria, have two children, Elijah and Eva. Pavel enjoys travel, photography, and swimming.
