You will have your own team of people experienced in handling the complexities of today's nonprofit. Teams are composed of data entry staff, bookkeepers, managers and CPAs who know your organization and your staff.
Your Cedarstone team members enjoy understanding your organization's work and getting to know your staff. They are excited to be able to use their skills and experiences in a way that enables others to have an impact.
This team is your out-sourced financial and donation processing department. They have the responsibility of completing the bookkeeping, accounting and donation processes tasks each month in a timely and accurate manner. The team works within the Cedarstone internal control system and its members have clearly delineated responsibilities so strong 'checks-and-balances' exist. Bank statements, brokerage statements and credit card statements are reconciled monthly by the team. An expanded description of the types of activities handled by your Cedarstone team can be found here.
The manager and CPA perform a month end review of the transactions and oversee the production of the month-end reports and analytics. They produce the financial reports and analytics components of your board packet if desired. They also are the primary contacts with the auditors and oversee the preparation of the audit workpapers.
Your introduction to the Technical Services Team will occur right at the start of our services. This team has primary responsibility for the implementation of our systems and processes to provide the services committed to during the initial discussions. By following the Cedarstone Implementation Template they make sure that the processes are known and working within your organization and within your Cedarstone team. The team also handles system setup and, if needed data conversion. Members on the technical service team have experience in nonprofit management, project managment, data conversion, accounting system configuration, process optimization and training.
The Technical Services Team is also available to define and implement, on a project basis, an internal financial system (processes, software, structure) in your organization that will be used by your own staff.
As your organization grows and changes, the executive or management level personnel needs change. The consulting team can provide an executive or management level person either on a part-time or temporary basis. They may be tasked with a wide range of responsibilities to help the organization change, transition and expand it capacities. More information on the services capabilities of this team can be found here.
The typical types of roles filled are virtual Chief Financial Officers, Chief Operating Officers and Controllers.
